The 2020 Strawberry Festival is set for Friday, July 31, in downtown Kokomo.
Nothing says summer like Amish-made shortcake, ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream piled high in a bowl! And enjoying that strawberry shortcake out in the sun while listening to live music is even better, and that’s what you’ll find at Kokomo’s annual Strawberry Festival. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Courthouse Square.
Tickets for strawberry shortcakes are just $5 (while supplies last.) Last year’s festival served more than 7,000 strawberry shortcakes.
But don’t fill up on just strawberry dessert! You’ll want to leave some room for the many food trucks and downtown eateries.
The festival’s free activities will fill the Courthouse Square. Farmers’ market vendors will sell local produce and homemade items. Back this year will be Crown Haven’s Petting Zoo and the Tiny Tots Motorcycle Adventure presented by ABATE of Howard County. Kids can enjoy the adventure of riding a motorcycle around a small course. There will be live music throughout the day on the Rhum Academy of Music Stage.
This year’s event will include additional safety measures to ensure all visitors and volunteers are safe during the event. Social distancing, masks, additional sanitization and disinfection will all be part of this year’s festival. Face masks and social distancing will be strongly encouraged for all attendees.
